The fishing industry is cruel to fish—who can feel pain and other feelings in the same capacity as our dogs and cats can—and wreaks havoc on our ecosystem. Extend your compassion to all animals, and leave fish off your plate. Try one of these delicious plant-based alternatives instead!

Plant Based Foods

The delicacy known as caviar is actually fish eggs that were cut from a sturgeon’s body. But because fish are friends, not food, we recommend Plant Based Foods’ Cavi-art instead! It comes in four different delicious varieties and is perfect for parties.

New Wave Foods

New Wave Foods is an innovative startup that’s making waves in the food industry. Even meat industry giant Tyson has invested big bucks in this plant-based company. They make a shrimp substitute that’s so versatile that it can be used in any recipe that calls for real shrimp. New Wave Foods shrimp isn’t on the market (yet) but it’s available at a few restaurant locations (including the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the San Francisco Giants Clubhouse.)

How many of these options have you tried? Let us know in the comments and be sure to also check out our recipes!
