2017 is Officially the Year of Vegan Ice Cream!
If you needed further proof that 2017 is the #YearofVeganIceCream, look no further than Halo Top. The company, which already distributes ice cream in the United States and Australia, has just announced that it will be introducing SEVEN all-new decadent vegan ice cream flavors:
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Oatmeal Cookie
- Caramel Macchiato
- Cinnamon Roll
- Peanut Butter Cup
- Chocolate Covered Banana
Perhaps even more amazing is that each and every one of these drool-worthy flavors clocks in at under 360 calories. Halo Top prides itself on offering ice creams that are low calorie, low sugar, and high in protein.
It’s no surprise that Halo Top has decided to enter the plant-based ice cream business. Within the last year, some of the world’s largest ice cream producers – Breyers, Häagen-Dazs, and Ben & Jerry’s – have all launched vegan ice cream flavors.
And here’s why.
In a statement to Time, Halo Top CEO Justin Woolverton said the ‘number one request‘ he gets from customers is to “offer vegan and non-dairy friendly lines of ice cream.” With more people than ever before waking up the cruelty that exists within in the dairy industry, we think that more companies will decide to embrace the plant-based revolution.
This plant-based deliciousness is set to hit stores by mid-October, so stay tuned for updates!
