Chorizo burger

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups seitan, finely chopped
  • 1.0 cups cooked kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2.0 tbsp. fried onion
  • 3.0 tbsp. rolled oats
  • 1.0 tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1.5 tbsp. paprika
  • 1.0 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 2.0 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 0.25 tsp. thyme
  • 0.5 tsp. garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp. parsley
  • pinch of black pepper

Preparation

 

  1. Chop and mash: Finely chop the seitan and put it in a bowl. Add the beans and fried onion, then mash with a fork.
  2. Combine: Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape and fry: Shape the mixture into medium-sized, slightly thick patties. Fry them in a lightly oiled pan over medium heat, covered, for 5-6 minutes on each side.
