Chorizo burger
Bold, Spanish-inspired flavors go plant-based with this smoky chorizo burger recipe. Made with seitan, beans, soy sauce, and a perfectly spiced blend, it’s perfect for summer cookouts or laid-back weekends. Chop, mash, shape, and fry—then savor every hearty bite!
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups seitan, finely chopped
- 1.0 cups cooked kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2.0 tbsp. fried onion
- 3.0 tbsp. rolled oats
- 1.0 tbsp. liquid smoke
- 1.5 tbsp. paprika
- 1.0 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2.0 tbsp. soy sauce
- 0.25 tsp. thyme
- 0.5 tsp. garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp. parsley
- pinch of black pepper
Preparation
- Chop and mash: Finely chop the seitan and put it in a bowl. Add the beans and fried onion, then mash with a fork.
- Combine: Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Shape and fry: Shape the mixture into medium-sized, slightly thick patties. Fry them in a lightly oiled pan over medium heat, covered, for 5-6 minutes on each side.
