Homemade coconut milk

- 1.0 grated coconut
- 6.25 cups water
Preparation
- Soak: Place the grated coconut in 2 cups of hot water and soak for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Blend: Add the soaked coconut and 4 ¼ cups of fresh water to a blender. Blend on high speed for at least 1 minute.
- Strain: Set a fine sieve over a large container. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve to remove most of the pulp. Then, for a smoother texture, pour it again through a mesh strainer designed for plant-based milks.
- Store: Transfer the coconut milk to a glass jar or airtight container. Refrigerate until ready to drink.
