Homemade coconut milk

Freshly made coconut milk brings a rich, creamy taste that stands out in any drink or recipe. Naturally lactose-free, it’s made with healthy fats and lauric acid for a touch of nourishment in every sip.

  • 1.0 grated coconut
  • 6.25 cups water

Preparation

 

  1. Soak: Place the grated coconut in 2 cups of hot water and soak for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Blend: Add the soaked coconut and 4 ¼ cups of fresh water to a blender. Blend on high speed for at least 1 minute.
  3. Strain: Set a fine sieve over a large container. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve to remove most of the pulp. Then, for a smoother texture, pour it again through a mesh strainer designed for plant-based milks.
  4. Store: Transfer the coconut milk to a glass jar or airtight container. Refrigerate until ready to drink.
