Oat milk

Ingredients

  • 1.0 cups oats
  • 6.25 cups water
  • 1.0 cinnamon stick (optional)

Preparation

 

  1. Soak: Place the oats in 2 cups of hot water and let soak for 10 minutes.
  2. Blend: Add the soaked oats, 4 ¼ cups of fresh water, and cinnamon (if using) to a blender. Blend on high speed for at least 1 minute.
  3. Strain: Set a fine sieve over a large container. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve to remove most of the pulp. Then, for a smoother texture, pour it again through a mesh strainer designed for plant-based milks.
  4. Store: Transfer the oat milk to a glass jar or airtight container. Refrigerate until ready to drink.
