Pizza cheez

Is there anything more delizioso than homemade pizza on a Friday night? Kick off the weekend with this creamy pizza cheez sauce, perfect for spreading over a light, airy pizza crust. Simply heat, whisk, and boil, then celebrate your accomplishment with a *chef’s kiss.*

Ingredients

  • 2.0 tbsp. plant-based butter or margarine, softened
  • 3.0 tsp. flour
  • 0.666 cups water
  • 1.0 tsp. mustard
  • 1.0 tsp. salt
  • .25 tsp. nutmeg
  • 4.0 tbsp. nutritional yeast

Preparation

 

  1. Heat and whisk together: Heat the margarine or plant-based butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the flour and whisk together until lump-free. 
  2. Combine and boil: Add half the water, bit by bit. Bring to the boil while stirring constantly. 
  3. Mix and boil again: Remove from the stove. Add mustard, salt, nutmeg, and nutritional yeast. Mix with the remaining water. Bring to a boil again and stir until creamy.
  4. Finish: Spread the cheese on the pizza of your choice and bake as usual.
